James "Jim" Golden

James “Jim” Golden is the principal hydrogeologist at Grove Scientific and Engineering.  He has been practicing as a professional geologist in Florida for over 28 years, concentrating on groundwater resources, contamination assessment and remediation, due diligence, brownfields, and solid waste management facility design, permitting, and monitoring.  Jim estimates that he has managed over 1,000 environmental site assessments (ESAs) throughout the southeast prior to and, once developed, under ASTM standards.  He was instrumental in the development of property acquisition due diligence protocols for Barnett Bank, Southland Corporation (7-11), and AT&T.  Jim has a bachelor of science in Environmental Studies/Geology from Indiana University and graduate studies in hydrogeology and water resources at both the University of Florida and University of Central Florida.  He is a registered professional geologist in Florida, Alabama, and South Carolina.  Notable local ESA projects include west-central Orlando (Amway Center, Federal Courthouse), Orlando International Airport expansions, Steelhouse Apartments (Orange Avenue and SR 50), Agere Semiconductor Plant (John Young Parkway), and numerous industrial, commercial, and landfill sites in the greater Orlando area.

Jim’s civic service positions include 12 years as a City of Ocoee Planning and Zoning Board member, many of those years it’s Chariman, Central Florida YMCA development Board member, Orange County Science Fair judge. Mr. Golden resides in College Park, Florida.
